3 day minimum for round trip hires (1 - 2 day hires available on request).

You can hire with Nationwide if you are 21+ years of age and hold a valid full driver licence. The law requires us to sight your licence when you pickup your vehicle.

Nationwide has no hidden fees. Our prices are in New Zealand dollars ($) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST), unlimited kilometres and insurance.

Comprehensive insurance is included in Nationwide's rates. Each hire is subject to an insurance excess. This can be reduced by payment of our Collision Damage Buydown. The excess is held as a security bond in the form of a credit card imprint taken at the commencement of the hire.

Glass Insurance is available and covers damage to windows and headlights.

The Collision Damage Buydown and Glass Insurance are offered when you pickup your vehicle.

A 10% deposit is required for all casual reservations. This is refundable provided we are given 14 days notice of a cancellation. The hire balance is payable on arrival.

Refunds for unused days are at Nationwide's discretion.

Nationwide provides complimentary transfers to and from our branches and airports, ferry terminals, and accommodation within the vicinity of our branches. These are available from 7.00am to 7.00pm. Pickups outside these hours are available on request and a late fee usually applies.

Transfers are also available at the conclusion of hires.

Pickups at Greymouth incur a fee. Pickups from Dunedin Airport incur a fee. Pickups from Queenstown incur a fee.

Airport dropoffs outside business hours may incur a fee.

Twelve depots are situated at strategic locations throughout New Zealand.

Southbound - 4 days minimum per island. Northbound - hires commencing from Christchurch or Wellington, no minimum length of hire.

Nationwide allows you to drop off in one island and pick up in another at no extra charge.

Hirers will leave their first vehicle in the first island and pick up a fresh one in the other. This saves significant transportation costs.

Nationwide vehicles are not permitted on: Ball Hut Road (Mount Cook), Skipper Road (Queenstown), 90 Mile Beach (Northland) and on State Highway 38 Lake Waikaremoana (Central North Island).

Nationwide hires baby and booster seats are available for hire. Unfortunately we do not have capsules for newborn babies.

Book a KRUSE unit with your rental. With the clever use of GPS technology your KRUSE unit will automatically provide you with informative and entertaining audio commentaries on New Zealand's history, people, attractions, native flora and fauna.

Nationwide provides ski racks and snow chains free of charge.

Nationwide provides complimentary touring maps.

Nationwide uses the Automobile Association (AA) Breakdown Service which is available throughout New Zealand.

We have our own freephone number to provide assistance should you encounter problems while travelling around New Zealand.

Petrol/fuel is not included in Nationwide's rates. Our vehicles are provided with a full tank of petrol and we ask that they are returned the same.

Nationwide will note any requests for vehicle models or body styles and we will do our best to provide such a vehicle. You may be upgraded.
