You can hire with Ezi-Rent if you are 21+ years of age. There is no maximum age.

You must hold a valid driver licence from your home country. An International Driver's Licence is not required but is accepted. The law requires us to sight your licence when you collect your vehicle.

Ezi-Rent allows two drivers free-of-charge. Additional drivers are extra per day.

Ezi-Rent has no hidden fees. Our prices are in New Zealand dollars ($) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST), unlimited kilometres and insurance.

Comprehensive insurance is included in Ezi-Rent's rates. Your hire is subject to an insurance excess/deductible.

The insurance excess/deductible is held as a security bond in the form of a credit card imprint taken at the commencement of your hire.

Ezi-Rent offers peace of mind. You can take our Collision Damage Buydown which reduces your insurance excess/deductible. The Collision Damage Buydown is a fee payable per day.

You can take our Glass Insurance which covers damage to windows and headlights.

The Collision Damage Buydown and Glass Insurance are offered when you collect your vehicle.

Refunds are not given for early returns. Your travel insurer may cover you if you must return your car early due to illness or a unforeseen change in your travel plans.

Ezi-Rent provides a Meet and Greet toll free number to call when you arrive. We provide free transfers from airports, ferry terminals and accommodation within the vicinity of our branches.

Transfers are available from 7.00am to 7.00pm. Transfers outside these hours are available on request and a fee usually applies.

In most locations Ezi-Rent does not charge airport or 'premium location' fees. Please note pickups from Dunedin Airport incur a fee (your vehicle is delivered to airport which is 30km from the city). Pickups from Greymouth incur a remote fee. Pickups from Queenstown incur a fee.

Simply bring your car to our branch and we will drop you off at the airport or to your accommodation. Transfers are available from 7.00am to 7.00pm. In some cases you can leave your vehicle at your accommodation or at a specified area at the airport out of hours. A early dropoff fee may apply to cover parking and recovery.

We have depots strategically located in the Bay of Islands, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Wellington, Picton, Greymouth, Christchurch, Queenstown and Dunedin.

Ezi-Rent is open every day except Christmas Day (25 Dec).

Ezi-Rent allows you to drop off your vehicle in one island and pick up in another at no extra charge.

You can drive Ezi-Rent vehicles on any road except: Ball Hut Road (Mount Cook), Skipper Road (Queenstown), 90 Mile Beach (Northland) and State Highway 38 Lake Waikaremoana. These roads are not part of normal touring routes.

You can hire baby and booster seats from Ezi-Rent. We do not have capsules for newborn babies.

Please book GPS with your rental. Simply place your GPS unit on the dash, plug it in, key in your destination and drive! It's a small price to pay to get from A to B hassle free!

Please book a KRUSE commentary with Ezi-Rent. With the clever use of GPS technology your KRUSE unit will automatically provide you with audio commentaries on New Zealand's history, people, attractions, native flora and fauna.

Ezi-Rent provides complimentary touring maps to help you on your way.

Ezi-Rent provides ski racks and snow chains free of charge.

Ezi-Rent uses the Automobile Association (AA) Breakdown Service which is available throughout New Zealand. We have our own freephone number which you can call for assistance should you encounter any problems.

Ezi-Rent is a subsidiary of Nationwide Rental Cars. Vehicles are generally 3 - 6 years of age, up to 200,000km (longer for special purpose people movers). New to 3 year old vehicles are guaranteed from our Nationwide fleet.

Unfortunately Ezi-Rent cannot guarantee that your car will have a CD player.

Ezi-Rent will note any requests for vehicle models or body styles and we will do our best to provide such a vehicle. You may be upgraded.
