Bedmobils can be driven with a normal car license which must be produced when collecting the vehicle and carried with you at all times while driving the vehicle. Most overseas licenses are acceptable if they are either written in English characters, accompanied by an English translation (available from your local Automobile Association) or an International Driver Licence.

The minimum age to drive a Bedmobil is 19 years.

When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick-up of the vehicle is counted as day one of the rental period, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the vehicle's return is counted as the final day of the rental period. When a rental period moves from one rate season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

Minimum rental is 7 days.

Once hire of the has commenced, there are no refunds for early return of the vehicle. If you must return home early for an emergency, you will be supplied with a letter for your travel insurance confirming that the vehicle was returned early.

If the hirer wishes to extend the rental of the vehicle whilst on hire, authorization of Bedmobils must be obtained first. This is subject to availability. Failure to obtain authorization of Bedmobils will result in a daily fee payable in addition to the daily rate of the vehicle.

All vehicles have to be brought back to Auckland to the place agreed to by both parties at the commencement or booking of the rental. Bedmobils reserves the right to charge a set amount for late returns of the vehicle. If you want to change the delivery place of the vehicle, please either call our office or write to us at least 3 days in advance.

Diesel is much cheaper at the fuel station in New Zealand then petrol, since diesel is not taxed at source. New Zealand Government charges people driving a diesel-powered Vehicle Tax through so-called 'Road User Charges'. The 'Road User Charges' are calculated and collected at the end of the Rental at a fee per 100km. Note: Rates are subject to government changes.

Bedmobils reserve the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle.

Please note that smoking is not allowed in any of the vehicles.

Animals are not permitted in the vehicles.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required within 7 days of the booking to secure the reservation. The rest of the agreed sum is due the latest at the commencement of hire.

None of the vehicles shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook) and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula), and Tapu-Coroglen Road (Coromandel Peninsula) and not on any beach during the hire.

Vehicles are all maintained to the highest standard and each vehicle is thoroughly checked through after every hire. But just in case - there is a 24-hour, 7-day emergency free-call number to deal with breakdowns. Any problems associated with the vehicle, must be reported to Bedmobils as soon as practicable, but within 24 hours in order to give Bedmobils the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental.

Repairs on the vehicle of up to a pre-determined may be affected without authorization and will be reimbursed. For amounts over this Bedmobils will need to be informed in advance and has to give authorization. Receipts must be submitted for any repairs done on the vehicle or the claim will not be paid.

Full Cover Motor Vehicle Insurance is included in the rates. An Accident Damage Excess does apply however. This Excess depends on your age and is fully refundable on return with no damage to the vehicle, third party or property as well as a clean interior of the vehicle and full fuel tanks (Diesel, Petrol & Gas in Cooker) brought back to the right place at the right time. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Excess Reduction a reduction of the excess by paying a higher daily rate can be arranged on an individual basis.

While almost always our vehicles are returned in good condition, sometimes accidents do happen. In cases where the damage is less than the applicable excess, you only pay the lesser amount - not the full excess.

If for any reason beyond the control of Bedmobils the reserved vehicle cannot be supplied on pick-up a substitute will be offered. Should a substitute not be available, the liability of Bedmobils is limited to a full refund of monies received by Bedmobils.

Additional Items such as Camping Chairs, Tables, Torches etc are available for Hire at a low cost. If you need anything extra please advise to make sure it is in your Bedmobil on pick-up.
