On delivery you will be familiarized with the set up and all the functions of the Bedmobil.

There will be a folder containing maps of NZ, Important Telephone Numbers and Instruction manuals of the Cooker and the Coolbox in the vehicle.

Michaela & Tom will take the time to make you feel like home in the Bedmobil & New Zealand. If necessary, they can also go for a driving lesson with you, so you are not on your own for the first kilometres.

It is no problem if you want to take the vehicle on the ferry from Wellington (North Island) to Picton (South Island). The length of the Bedmobil is less than 6.0m, so the Bedmobils travel at the same rate as a car and can save you quite a bit of money.

All vehicles must be brought back to Auckland to the place agreed to by both parties at the commencement or booking of the rental. If you want to change the delivery place of the vehicle, please either call the office or write to us at least 3 days in advance.

Toyota and Nissan Vans have the best reputation in New Zealand due to their reliability.

The models used - Hiace, Homy & Caravan for a Bedmobil are bigger than your normal Townace, Liteace or Vanette. Therefore you will have extra space in front of the bed for extra comfort. The vehicles are the Long Wheel Base Versions which give you extra room and comfort to move around day & night.

Bedmobils are specially designed so you do not have to fold your bed up & down. The bed is fixed in the Van so you do not have to put it away during daytime.

Queen Bed (2.00m) or double Bed (1.90m). Innersprung mattress with linen and pillows.

For a 3rd person there is a foldable Single Mattresses for hire available.

New Zealand has numerous camping grounds, caravan & campervan parks situated throughout the country for all different budgets. Visitors to New Zealand are impressed by the comprehensive facilities on offer such as full kitchen facilities, BBQ area, TV lounge, washing machines, dryers etc. as well as the cleanliness of shower and toilet blocks.

In the remote areas of New Zealand you can also find 'Department of Conservation' (DOC) Camps that provide basic campgrounds for a minimal amount of money.

Kiwis (people of New Zealand) are a camping friendly nation - so you definitely will not have a problem to find a campground. Also public showers and toilets are numerous and in most of the cases extremely clean – so do not worry about that – they are really different to the ones in Europe for instance.

Wild (Free) Camping is also a possibility in New Zealand. These areas are signposted. Please do not camp in any areas where it is forbidden to camp. Those areas will be indicated with signs as well.

New Zealand is still one of the cleanest, friendliest & safest places of the world.
