This is calculated on a calendar day (not a 24 hour day), minimum 6 days (Xmas/New Year minimum 18 days) Unlimited Kms and GST Tax included. Insurance extra.

A 'non refundable' deposit is required to secure your reservation. If the booking covers Dec - Mar a 'non refundable' deposit will be required.

The balance of the payment for ALL reservations is due 30 days before commencement of the first item.

As a result of a recent law change in New Zealand, please note Breakaway can accept VALID OVERSEAS DRIVER LICENCES from the following 9 countries only:

Australia, Canada, Germany, Fiji, Namibia, The Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA.

Clients from all other countries MUST be driving on an INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT otherwise they are driving illegally.

Please Note :

• permits you to drive in NZ for a maximum of 12 months from the date you arrive in NZ
• each time you visit NZ you can drive for a further 12-month period on a valid overseas licence or international driving permit, as long as you stay no more than a year at a time
• holders of non-English licences must carry an accurate translation or an International Driving Permit while driving
• when a person has been issued with a NZ licence, the overseas one will not be accepted as valid

Minimum age of all drivers is 25 years AND 4 years driving experience.

The Hirer/Driver is responsible for the first 'EXCESS' of each single incident as with the Insurance option taken.

Standard Insurance (SI) is mandatory per day. Bond/excess applies (hirer/driver pays the Bond/excess amount of each single accident subject to the Rental Contract)

Cover includes : Collision, over-head, under-body, 3rd party and break-in (subject to the rental contract and excess)

Excluded : Windscreen damage, tyre damage, tyre punctures and water damage (subject to the rental contract and the excess)

(this mandatory insurance MUST be included in the full payment)

Excess Reduction Insurance (ERI) reduces the excess the hirer/driver pays for each single incident and is an additional cost (to above std insurance cost)

Cover includes : Collision, over-head, under-body, 3rd party and break-in (subject to the rental contract and excess)

Excluded : Windscreen damage, tyre damage, tyre punctures and water damage (subject to the rental contract and the excess)

Tyre/puncture Insurance (TPI) is available for a daily fee.

Cover includes : Puncture (tube) repairs at nominated garages.

Excluded : Tyre damage.

Windscreen Insurance (WS) is available for a daily fee.

Cover includes : Front Windscreen damage.

Please Note INSURANCE COVER can either be PREPAID or paid by CREDIT CARD at the depot on pickup.

Travel Insurance with CANCELLATION and TERMINATION clauses is recommended.

Bond/Excess is taken by Credit Card imprint on the Rental Contract. The bond is held subject to the terms and conditions of the contract, e.g. the safe return of the vehicle in an undamaged, complete and reasonably clean condition.

An accident damaged vehicle may be replaced by a similar or lower valued vehicle if available.

Depots are located at Auckland and Christchurch. (Head Office: Hastings)

One way and return hires accepted. No charges between depots. Relocation fees payable for other places or if the drop-off depot is changed during the hire.

Vehicles are available 24 hours.

Auckland transfers are FREE within the Airport area (available 24 hours)

Christchurch transfers are FREE between the depot and Airport 8am to 4.30pm (after hours available at hirers expense)

(arrival flight details/and or contact addresses are ALWAYS required)

Check-in staff are available for assistance from 8am to 4.30pm (not on public holidays) All hires outside these hours/days are self-service and available by prior arrangement with our Reservations Service. Telephone assistance is always available.

Bookings should be made at time of vehicle reservation, they can be changed at no charge through BREAKAWAY.

Late returns are charged at double rates plus costs of subsequent hirage.

Dropoff refill to pickup level charged to hirer at double the fuel cost.

Cancellations 30 days or more before pick-up the deposit is forfeited.

Cancellations within 30 days of pick-up the balance is proportionally forfeited.

Snow Skis and boots are not permitted inside vehicles without a protective bag.

Smoking is not permitted inside vehicles.

Animals of any kind are NOT allowed in our vehicles.

Creditcards are accepted for the deposit and bond. Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Diners and American Express.

If for reasons beyond our control the reserved vehicle cannot be supplied on pick-up, a substitute will be offered. In case a substitute is not available or acceptable, our liability is limited to a full refund of monies received by BREAKAWAY Fleet.

Complete lost days refunded (not accumulated days), no liability accepted for alternative arrangements.

Report immediately for prompt attention, retrospective claims will not be recognized.

Refunds and corrections are handled by the Hastings office.
Nothing implied unless in writing by the director.

No refund of unused Hireage.
Hires subject to the terms and conditions of the Rental Contract.
