This document contains a brief summary of our rental conditions. The full conditions of our rental contract do apply.

Daily rates are calculated on a 24-hour period.

The minimum rental for all vehicles is three days.

Rates include unlimited kilometres. A one way rental has a minimum rental period of at least seven days.

Apollo has branches in Auckland and Christchurch. Branches are open seven days a week, 8am to 4:30pm. Branches will be closed Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday.

Vehicles must be collected and returned to our depots (not airports). Transfers to and from the Airport to the Apollo depot are provided free of charge.

Our rates include GST of 12.5%.

Our preferred payment method is by credit card. We accept Bankcard, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club. American Express and Diners Club will incur an additional 4% surcharge fee on any transaction.

A valid, non-provisional, state, overseas or international drivers licence is required. The licence must be in English characters for our staff to read. The licence must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of the rental. Copies and translations of drivers licences are not sufficient. The original must be shown at time of pick-up when the driver is present.

The minimum age to drive the vehicle is 21 years and the maximum age is 75 years.

• Baby seats NZ$ 20.00 each per rental
• Booster seats NZ$ 20.00 each per rental
• Camping kits (2 people) NZ$ 15.00 per day (maximum NZ$ 315.00)

Baby Seats
One baby seat (must be pre-booked) suitable for children under 3 years of age can be fitted to all vehicles.

Booster Seats
Booster seats (must be pre-booked) suitable for children between 3 and 8 years of age can be supplied for all vehicle models.

Camping Kits
Camping kits suitable for two people (includeing a 3 person tent, built-in ground sheet, sleeping bags with personal liners, sleeping mats, pillows, ice box, crockery & cutlery, pots & pans, gas cooker, salt & pepper, containers, tea towels, personal towels, torch, Apollo welcome pack, maps and camping ground directories) can be supplied on request.

Rate is NZ$ 15.00 per day (maximum amount payable is NZ$ 315.00) payable direct to Apollo.

Consecutive rentals can be combined to qualify for a long-term discount rate (our minimum rental period rules still apply). Australia and Zealand rentals as well as car and motorhome rentals can also be combined for long-term discounts. If drop off of a vehicle and pick up of a new vehicle occurs on the same day then a day each will be charged per respective vehicle.

There is no fee for one way rentals.

Vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or access roads. No vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook) and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula).

Apollo reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.

We reserve the right to substitute a comparable vehicle or superior vehicle at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract, and does not entitle the renter to any refund.

We reserve the right to charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines, traffic infringements, road toll fines. An additional administration fee of NZ$ 35.00 will apply to cover the costs of processing.

In the event of no alternative vehicle being available to the renter our liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge or in the case of mechanical failure (unless caused by the renter) the remainder of the hire period.

The following cancellation fees apply:

• If cancelled less than 7 days prior to pick up = 50% of gross rental
• If cancelled on day of pick-up or no show = 100% of gross rental
• There is no refund for late pick up or early return of vehicle

We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance.

Personal Injury The Vehicle has third party insurance cover. It is likely that any other vehicle involved in an accident also has third party insurance cover. Depending on the circumstances of the accident, you may be entitled to claim for your personal injury against the third party insurance of the party responsible for the accident. The extent of such third party insurance varies and Apollo strongly recommends that you take out your own Personal Injury Travel Insurance. If you are responsible for the accident the Vehicle's third party insurance should cover you for your liability except where you have committed a breach of the Vehicle's third party insurance eg: drink driving.

Property Damage The Vehicle is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of a third party. However you are responsible up to the amount of the applicable Liability for the cost of such damage to third party property, or to the rented Vehicle. You are also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the Vehicle is unavailable due to repairs. The Liability applies in respect of each claim, not per rental. The Liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported to Apollo, not at the completion of the rental Period. The Liability will be refunded if Apollo is successful in recovering the cost of the damage from the third party.

Standard Liability Apollo's rental charge includes a Standard Liability of NZ$ 2000.00 A Bond of NZ$ 2000.00 will be collected from you at the time of entering into this Agreement.

The Standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following Reduction Options:

Reduction Option
A Liability of NZ$ 250.00 applies. You can purchase this Option by paying to Apollo NZ$ 18.00 per day. The maximum amount payable by you for this Option is NZ$ 720.00

With this Option a Bond of NZ$ 250.00 will be collected.

On pick up of the vehicle the Bond is payable by you to Apollo by cash, traveller's cheques or by an open signed credit card (Bankcard, Visa or MasterCard) imprint with an authorization obtained for the amount of the Bond. Personal or company cheques are not accepted.

Note: If the Bond is given in cash or traveller's cheques then your passport must be presented on pick up and the refund will be by Apollo's cheque.

The Bond is fully refundable when the Vehicle is returned to the Nominated Location on time, is full of fuel and all other terms of the Agreement have been complied with by you. If there is damage to the Vehicle on its return, the Bond will be used to cover the cost of such damage up to the amount of your relevant Liability. However if you breach the terms of the Rental Contract and the Bond is insufficient to cover the damage you will be charged for any extra cost and you shall pay that cost to Apollo upon demand.

Note: If the Bond is given in cash or traveller's cheques then your passport must be presented on pick up. Due to security reasons the refund will be by Apollo's company cheque, which is sent to the renter's home address from the Apollo Head Office.

At all times you will be responsible for:

• Damage caused to the Vehicle in circumstances where the terms of Rental Contract have been breached
• Damage caused by negligence
• Damage caused to the Vehicle in any way by part or total water submersion or salt water
• Damage caused to the Vehicle by your willful conduct
• Damage or loss caused to any personal belongings
