All drivers should hold a valid driver's licence. A current acceptable overseas, New Zealand or International licence is required from all intending drivers. At the Manager's discretion, a holder of a licence for less than five years is acceptable but may incur a higher insurance excess.

24 hours from time of pick up. Additional hours are costed at 1/5 of the daily rate up to five hours and a full day thereafter. Payment is to be made at commencment of hire by either cash, travellers cheques or credit card.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 12.5% is included in all daily hire prices.

All of our cars have full, standard insurance cover included in the daily rate. It is subject to an excess including local taxes for drivers aged 25 and over (windscreen insurance is not included).

The hirer can reduce the excess by paying a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).

A bond is required for all hires. You will be asked to sign a separate security bond in the form of a Credit Card imprint, or give a cash deposit. This bond is held by Ace Tourist Rentals (NZ) Ltd and is not banked. It is our guarantee that the vehicle will be returned on time and in the condition that it was hired.

Returning a hired vehicle early may incur a penalty of one day's hire. The daily rate on any discounted or special hires may be recalculated at rack rates.

Available between all branches, minimum hire days apply. Repositioning fees may apply.

Child seats are now compulsory on New Zealand roads (under 5) and may be hired from our branches. Please order at time of reservation stating age of child so correct size may be booked.

Cancellations made within five days of commencement of hire may incur a penalty fee of one day's rental.
